Memphis’ Pinch District experienced a burst of color and community spirit as volunteers gathered for a Planter Painting Project. Led by renowned Memphis artist Toonky Berry, participants transformed ordinary planters into vibrant works of art.

“I grew up with monuments to violence, and I really wanted monuments to care, thinking about what we value and why caregiving is what sustains us,” Gochman said. “It’s the most essential work that we as humans practice.”
