Buy Local
Connecting companies to keep wealth local
The Buy Local program is dedicated to increasing the amount of local goods and services that District institutions purchase from businesses located in Memphis. To that end, MMDC focuses on local and diverse non-capital spend opportunities.
Supporting Local Businesses
Buy Local supports companies headquartered in Memphis and does not include national companies with local branches.
Supporting Diverse Businesses
Buy Local supports minority- and women-owned businesses by connecting them with local sourcing opportunities.
The Impact of buy local
Since 2014, Buy Local has increased local spend by $22 million. This tremendous increase in local and diverse spend continues to grow.
