The Buy Local program is dedicated to increasing the amount of local goods and services that District institutions purchase from businesses located in Memphis. To that end, MMDC focuses on local and diverse non-capital spend opportunities.
Supporting Local Businesses
Buy Local supports companies headquartered in Memphis and does not include national companies with local branches.
Supporting Diverse Businesses
Buy Local supports minority- and women-owned businesses by connecting them with local sourcing opportunities.
The Impact of buy local

How it works

District Purchasing Council

MMDC partners with Medical District anchor institutions on a District Purchasing Council that meets monthly to network, match with local minority-, and women-owned businesses, and connect to resources that support the development and expansion of businesses within Memphis and the Medical District. Participating partners include Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare, Southern College of Optometry, Regional One Health, ALSAC / St. Jude, and Southwest Tennessee Community College.

The District purchasing portal is currently under renovation. We will provide updates as soon as possible!
