The Hire Local program connect residents in and around the Medical District with employment opportunities close to home. Since 2019, it has expanded its partnerships from one to four employment partners, and has tripled the number of registrants in the Hire Local database to 400. Graduates from the Hire Local certified nursing assistant training class experienced a $3 increase in starting wage and the program has a 71% placement rate for those graduates who complete the program.

In 2021 MMDC hosted eight training cohorts for CNA and Housekeeping positions, and connected over 56 graduates with interviews at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, Regional One Health Hospital, Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, and Fresh Start Facility Services.
