Muggin Coffeehouse is now officially open in Uptown Memphis for your daily dose in the District!
Muggin Coffeehouse’s second location is now officially open in the Medical District on North Main Street near the Malone Park Commons Development.
It’s been three years since Muggin opened its doors in Whitehaven, which has rapidly become a city-wide sensation. From its locally roasted and brewed beans to its unique and welcoming atmosphere, it’s one of the best spots to catch up and recharge in Memphis.
We caught up with the co-owner and founder of Muggin Coffeehouse, Ken Olds, and asked him to spill the beans on the secrets to their success.
“We focus first on building people and then the business,” Olds said. “The idea is that if you engage and invest with your team, they will ensure your business is successful. We are a small company but we are a growing company and anyone that makes the decision to stick and grow with us, we will do the same for them.”
Co-owners Ken and Mary Olds are graduates of Proof Incubator’s 2023 Memphis Restaurant Accelerator program sponsored by First Horizon Foundation. During this 8-week intensive, they were able to train with experts to improve their business model and learn how to build for long-term success.

When deciding on the best place for their second location, the sense of community in Uptown Memphis stood out to them.
“We are excited to be a part of the growth of Uptown,” Olds said. “We are looking forward to expanding our business model to include catering for large groups. We hope this is something we can do with the location in Uptown.”
