Memphis Inner City Rugby Celebrates Facility Improvements with MMDC Ribbon Cutting
September 14, 2026

Memphis Inner City Rugby (MICR) has spent years empowering young athletes to grow both on and off the rugby field. Now, the organization has another milestone to celebrate: an upgraded home base designed to support its players, coaches, and growing community.

The Memphis Medical District Collaborative (MMDC) recently joined MICR for a ribbon-cutting celebration recognizing improvements made to the organization’s facilities with support from an MMDC improvement grant.

The upgraded space provides MICR’s athletes with an environment that matches the energy, dedication, and sense of community they bring to the field every day. More than a place to practice and prepare, the facility serves as a home base where young athletes can build confidence, strengthen relationships, and continue developing as players and leaders.

For MMDC, supporting improvements like MICR is about investing in the organizations and people that make our community stronger. By helping enhance spaces where Memphians gather, learn, grow, and connect, MMDC continues its commitment to creating a vibrant and thriving Medical District.

The ribbon cutting was also an opportunity to recognize the players, coaches, families, and community members who continue to make Memphis Inner City Rugby’s work possible.

As the organization enters this next chapter, its athletes have an improved space to continue making big plays—both on the rugby field and throughout their community.

Congratulations to Memphis Inner City Rugby on this exciting milestone!
