In the heart of Memphis’ dynamic and vibrant district, the Memphis Medical District was alive with flavor, music, and community spirit during this year’s Taste of the District. This mid-week event brought together hundreds of attendees to celebrate local, small businesses, and community connection.
From savory bites to sweet treats, guests enjoyed unlimited samples from 30+ local restaurants, bakeries, and beverage vendors. More than 40 vendors were initially scheduled to appear, but weather-related changes created schedule conflicts for some vendors.
The lineup showcased the best of the Medical District’s culinary scene — from beloved neighborhood staples like Imagine Vegan Cafe to established Edge District staples such as JEM Restaurant — offering a true taste of Memphis creativity and hospitality. Whether it was grabbing a delicious bite of Vietnamese cuisine from Bao Tan Kitchen and Bar or cooling off with a refreshing signature cocktail from Juice by Lissa, every bite and sip told a story of the talent and diversity in the city.
Medical District newcomer Peach Cobbler Factory's appearance was as tasty as promised during its recent local news feature, and days after its appearance at TOTD, Playa Bowls officially signed their lease and will be joining the community as well!
More Than a Meal
Beyond the food and festivities, Taste of the District represents something deeper — community collaboration and economic growth. The event supports MMDC’s mission to strengthen our local economy by supporting independent, minority, and women-owned businesses. Every bite and ticket goes directly back into fueling our nonprofit organization's vision for the city of Memphis.
Attendees were treated to live entertainment featuring Stan Bell from iHeart Media and an interactive experience provided by the Grizzlies Hype Team, which included a t-shirt toss, a fan table, and their famous truck, setting the tone for a lively evening filled with laughter, conversation, and great vibes. Families, students, and friends all came together to enjoy Memphis’s unique mix of culture and connection, a reminder of why events like this matter to the community.
The Memphis Medical District Collaborative extends heartfelt thanks to all sponsors, participating vendors, volunteers, and the vibrant community that showed up to make this event a success.
Taste of the District continues to highlight what makes the Medical District so special — a vibrant, connected community that believes in good food, great company, and investing in local growth.
